Ps2 To Pc Controller Driver

it is not Microsoft's job to write drivers for this Sony product. I have quite a collection of pads, some of which date back a decade or so, and fortunately either the manufacturers did their job and wrote drivers for it, or they conform to the various pc controller standards (directinput or xinput)

3-1) Download and install Driver Easy. 3-2) Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers. Installation guide. Download the software linked above, and start by installing the four Microsoft packages. If you're on a Windows 7 PC, you'll also need to install the Xbox 360 controller driver. On Windows 8 and 10, it's already built in! Important step: plug your Dualshock 3 into your PC with a mini-USB cable.

But a little digging points to a possible solution to get your ps2 usb controller working..

Windows 8 and 8.1 disable 'unsigned' drivers by default (if it's 64-bit, it won't even tell you this is happening!). So, you install your driver, the driver install program says success, and Windows 8 immediately tosses your new driver into the netherworld. I'm guessing most PS2 controller to PC adapters have unsigned drivers.
Disabling this...um...'feature' in Windows 8 can be done. Not fun, involves lots of restarts, but you can do it. There's a guide (with pictures!) here:

Once you've got signature verification turned off, you should be able to install the drivers for your device. You may have to then manually select the driver for it in Printers and Devices or Device Manager.

Unsigned drivers for usb devices are a bit of a security risk.
